Jurassic World: Dominion is temporarily shutting down production due to the global pandemic stemming from the coronavirus. The third film in the Jurassic World franchise has been filming since February, but now it along with other Universal Pictures projects have announced they are halting production. This is by no means the first impact the coronavirus has had on the entertainment industry, as several upcoming movies have delayed their releases while other films currently in production have suspended temporarily. In fact, the only facet of the entertainment industry looking to benefit from quarantines and widespread social distancing are streaming services. Disney+, for example, is acting quick by releasing Frozen 2 three months early, looking to capitalize on children now stuck at home amid school closures. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is also being released early on digital, but for those more interested in seeing new movies, that wait just got longer.
In a new report from Deadline, Warner Bros. has officially put The Batman on a two week hold due to the concern of the cast and crew's safety. Production was supposed to move from London to Liverpool, but due to the current situation, the studio decided to hold off for the time being. Warner Bros. is stressing that no one that works on set has been affected by the coronavirus. In a statement released to Deadline, Warner Bros. confirmed that the hiatus is going into effect as of today as they "will continue to monitor the situation closely."

Harvey Weinstein, the movie producer who dominated Hollywood for decades, was sentenced on Wednesday to 23 years in prison for sex crimes, as the six women who had testified against him watched from the courtroom’s front row, holding one another, some in tears.
The long sentence meant that Mr. Weinstein, who is 67 and in poor health, could very well spend the rest of his life in prison.
Minutes before, Mr. Weinstein, who was sitting in a wheelchair, had said that he was remorseful but also “totally confused” about what had happened to him. He likened his experience to that of Hollywood figures blacklisted during the scare over communism in the 1950s.
The moment capped a precipitous fall from power for Mr. Weinstein that started in October 2017 when, after years of rumors, several women openly accused him of sexual assault and harassment.
Their stories led women around the world to speak about mistreatment at the hands of powerful men, shifting the cultural landscape with the #MeToo movement.
Justice James A. Burke, who presided over the trial in State Supreme Court in Manhattan, could have sentenced Mr. Weinstein to as little as five years, but he heeded the arguments of prosecutors who urged him to hand down a much longer sentence.
